It just won't seem right not to have The Wizard as a Cardinal. that being said I had the dilemma of protecting Simmons or Ozzie knowing that whichever one I didn't was likely gone. I figured good switch hitting catchers are less common than good fielding ss. Hope so anyway.

This is true, but the last time I used Ted in this league as a Cardinal he stunk it up for most of the season. I believe he finished with an OPS below .800. Maybe you'll have better luck.

didn't someone protect a $200k bench guy once? or draft one?
Yeah, more than anything, protecting relievers gives me flexibility to take a wider variety of positions in the player draft - said differently, I don't really know what I'm doing
Shay, your "positional flexibility" reasoning cracked me up a bit. You mean other than starting pitching?

his defense might kill me, but his bat is just too good of a fit for KC. Edgar Martinez SEA

I LOVE this pick, newark. You're right about the bat. He's gonna make some errors, but the incredible offense will outweigh the bad D. Now I sound like Billy Beane...

Damn, I was hoping that comment would slip by unnoticed. I could have gone the catcher route - Chris Iannetta isn't exactly going to make Jose thrust the Rockies into the upper tier of the division. A division with the Yanks and Red Sox of course...
