Blacklist League 1994-2009 - DONE Topic

And I'm one of them (like I needed to tell you that). I'll be in tonight.

Getting a round a day done is very, very fast - taking waaay too much of my time

Actually, in a normal draft, the schedule typically calls for a round a day. The big difference here is that we're averaging 2 to 3 players selected per team, per round. I think that pace is fine, but there's a more efficient way to handle it.

Here's what I'd suggest for next time...

Everybody must have their 6 picks in by 8 pm each night. If they don't, then they simply choose 12 next players time. You would post the updated list no later than 10 pm. Then repeat this process each day.

This way, everybody knows all know the paramters. Some would send their next roster in at 10:30 that night, others might wait until 7 pm the next evening. Either way, everybody know the new list won't be updated until 10 pm. You don't have to continually check to see who's missing and send reminders. It would be up to each person to get his picks in on time.

Just a thought.

... I like that. And, it means you don't need to be processing everything while you're at work.

Not exactly true. I find myself doing most of my research at work and unfortunately, I work midnights. Personally, I think this draft is going way better than the others I've been involved in with the same concept. In fact, there's another draft going on right now that started before this one and is only in round 6

All depends on the owners and how fast they send their picks.......

Running one of these drafts is also not the same as running any other type of draft, since multiple people can pick the same player, it is more work.

Whose gonna run the next one?

I can honestly say I haven't been overwhelmed running the other one. Maybe because it is going slower than this one but for the most part I have been waiting for owners to send me their picks, not them waiting for me to post results.

I'd be up for running one of these... with a daily deadline as suggested by schwarze. What years have been used in past leagues? I'm in bheid's 1950-1975 draft as well and both drafts have been fun and challenging to participate in. Not sure $12.95 is enough compensation for all the work required by the commish!

A free team is almost enough for me to do it, but there's a reason why I've been playing this game for eight years and have never run a league.

I'd be happy to run the next one if the years we're using can be figured out. Just let me know.

What happened? We suddenly lost momentum.
