1. I'll give you that one.
2. Your prediction was for Campbell to be tradeable last off-season. For all we know he wasn't then. It was the perfect storm with the cap floor, tallon, etc.
3. What we got for brouwer is tbd, and bickell so far is looking better than brouwer ever did.
4, 5 well see.

Hardly what I would call "swami" predictions.

2. You were arguing with me about an 'untradable' Campbell as recent as THIS offseason. We did the Florida and Ottawa GM roles about 2 months ago. Campbell was tradable back in the 2010 offseason as well.... everyone is tradable ... its the price they will pay/fetch to unload a player like Campbell that changes season to season.

I agree with the accountablility part of your post.

I disagree about a cambell deal. I don't think bowman has the brass to make a deal that will cost him more than just campbell - (i.e. a 1st rounder for 1 or 2 older but more physical depth players with shorter contracts). If the deal is good enough a team will take it - any team. Bowman needs to sweeten the pot, but won't imo. Simon Gagne had only a 1 yr $5 mil contract but the flyers gave him away in the off-season to clear cap - and it was pretty easy to do. Unlike Gagne - It would take more than just campbell for garbage to unload him because of his 5 remaining years on that contract.... but I think it could be done.

If you go to capgeek and find me the top 8 teams closest to the cap in the offseason --- I'll be the Blackhawks GM and you a GM from the other team and we will iron out an acceptable deal involving campbell. I could be wrong, but I bet we'd be able to make it happen.
Timestamping the Campbell prediction. I've been saying he's tradable for a long time... the resistance kept bringing up his NTC and $7 mil AAV.

****! Ovie just scored on the flyers... brouwer assist.

Ugh. So you guys were 'NOT' telling me he was untradable up until he was dealt in the offseason? Let me go back and prove you wrong.

No need...I never said I didn't contest what you were saying...I'm saying we have no way of knowing when and if he was tradeable.

Varlamov is playing great in this game...but what a shot by Sharpie...he's looking like he's getting back up to speed.

The fact is that the only teams that would have and could have taken his salary wouldn`t be destinations he`d accept a deal to.
How did you get to see his list of teams?
moy, if you're Brian Campbell, you're not going to the Islanders or the Panthers. I'm just thinking of the teams that could have fit his salary under their cap is all. I didn't mean anything by it.
This one is good. Why would Campbell ever go to the panthers?

Good one...but at the time there was no Dale Tallon, and without Tallon's sales call after Campbell initially refused the deal, that trade never happens.

So I guess we were both right...Campbell's initial refusal shows us he really didn't want to go there, and the fact that the trade happened after that is a testament to the fact that he was in fact tradeable to the Panthers.

You are not listening to me then..... everyone is tradable.... if Edmonton gave the hawks 10 first round picks the hawks would probably deal Toews. That's obviously unrealistic.... but it just goes to show everyone is tradable. For years Lombardi said schenn is untradable. He was traded.... as were many other proven superstars.... Gretzky, Messier, Coffey, Forsberg, Recchi, Jagr, belfour, hasek, the list goes on.

Again, semantics. Was Campbell ever REALISTICALLY tradeable before he got dealt? No way of knowing. That's all I'm saying. His refusal to go to Columbus and then initially to Florida should be some proof that it would have been difficult to get him to accept a trade to just any team that had cap space.

Rarely ever does a NTC ever stop a team from eventually dealing a player.

But it did with Campbell. Twice.

Really... that stopped him from 'eventually' getting dealt?
