It was not the open hand speech I expected. It was not mean spirited, but was not an olive branch. He explained much of his vision, but I thought it would be a softer tone, especially regarding immigration. Not that I needed it to be. I just see it as a wasted opportunity to reach out to try to mend fences, and to reach independents that aren't warming to him. Then again, he realizes how entrenched the other side is.

I am curious how this will be perceived overall...

doc....what you say about the mueller probe and re memo is of course very reasonable.....my difference is that the memo will not be released or handled in good faith.
there is no reason in the world that mccabe should recuse because his wife is involved in dem politics....thats how totalitarian societies...fbi agents are allowed to vote and have political views until now.......

so how does Clarence Thomas get a pass when his wife is a lobbyist for a tea party group that was trying to repeal Obamacare among other conservative policies. Shouldn't Thomas have to recuse himself? and where is the outrage on the right about it?

It's amazing how everyone investigating Trump, even though they're lifelong Republicans appointed by Republicans, should be removed because they know someone who knows someone who knows someone who donated money to a Democrat at some point in the past.

so the info given by australia to the white house and doj under obama is not questioned in any way...no republican wants to even mention it.
and if christopher steele in the course of working for the mi6 gave developed info to the doj/fbi no one would be able to question it because steele is one of the most elite spies in the west among all nations and THE expert on russia so much so that he conducts seminars for our fbi....in the spy world he is legend.
so the info given by an elite spy with ethical and integrity credentials far above board and actually cares about our democracy is suddenly lies because his private firm was funded.
btw...most of the info was already accumulated prior to the funding.

we have a serious problem with a major party.....basically they are not patriotic......

Involving his wife, yes he should recuse himself to avoid even the appearance of conflict of interest...
