Whoa, now we can't adjust our line ups? I often did it. I'll make promises I can't live up to, and if the game is meaningless I'll adjust my line ups to make that player happy. Also, if I had someone out for most the season, before NT time I'll adjust to see who will play what role for my team. Sorry, this is a "coaching" game, and we all have every right to make adjustments to our line ups as well as game plan without being accused of doing something wrong.

When people are OPENLY saying they do it, it makes it fairly easy to prove. Although, like furry said, people are just gonna be more careful as to what they say now.

:-)
You can set your lineups however you want to, except in the conference tournament. The rule only applies to that.

Note: If I throw a game to help someone else's RPI that's not illegal.

adjust - yes. suddenly start 5 freshman in the conference tourny championship game who were on mop-up duty all season - no.

use common sense you nimrods.

Consequences

At the sole discretion of WhatifSports, any of the above violations may result in sanctions ranging from a warning to an immediate closure of a user's account.

Remember - the game is for fun! Creating confrontation in your league inevitably leads to a worse time for all involved. Play hard, but play fair!

You don't like it, don't try to play in a gray area.

Pretty funny, this whole furor started over what allegedly happened in .000001% of games.

They can't fix things that are really wrong with this game and it takes them forever to close loopholes that everyone uses and yet they take the time to worry about the .000001%.

By the time you're playing in the CT, promises are meaningless. If you promised a recruit a starting spot, then giving a player a start in the CT when he hasn't started all year isn't going to "fix" the fact that you promised him a start. And I can't speak for everyone, but the CT is the last place to be making wholesale changes to your lineups. You should only do that if you've already lost to your opponent and feel you need to shake things up to pull out a W. If you've beaten the team handily in the regular season, then suddenly pull your starters and play your backups all the time, you're effectively saying, "Let me do what I can to help the other guy win...."

And that should be a slight clue to you as to how screwed up it is for you to throw those games.

Though this is well intended, there really isn't any way to prove this unless a coach literally benches his best players and starts his weakest. I completely agree with Garwood:
"...Maybe they should investigate people with more than one team in the same world. To me, THAT goes against the spirit of the game, and invites cheating and throwing games."
The scouting service has become so vital in helping build winning teams that a coach must spend money to use it in order to compete in this game. But when there are 4 teams in the same world, each named Lakerhater07, Lakerhater113, Lakerhater34 and Lakerhater54 (not using anyone specific as an example) it is extremely difficult to compete against this user - obviously assuming this is the same player. With multiple teams a player can systematically recruit different regions since they have a larger bankroll. With 4 teams even at a D2 level you can nearly scout all 50 states and have money to land quality players you know will grow into special players. I've even seen players openly admit to having multiple teams in the same world and having to deal with their teams having to play each other in the post-season. Again, not calling anyone out or making assumptions that that coach would fix a game between his two teams, but it seems reasonable to suggest that a coach could fix a game between his two teams based on which team he/she feels has the best chance of surviving against the team they might play next.
This issue may be the greatest threat to the success and integrity of this game.
