I will play anyway you break up the decades, but only if its 24 owners, I am not a fan of 12 or 16 teams.

Welcome bjcole, yeah man, would be glad to have you...

how does the keepers work? do you have to keep the same year or it has to be in the eras we are playing in? ex if i take a 1924 ruth in season 4, can he be my keeper in season 5 as 1924 or do i got to get with the time span of season 5?

also do you have to name a year when drafting....not a fan of that with a cap. I would rather pick my players and work out the cap when its all on paper.

If no year is required at the time of draft put me down, I will be away from july 6th -july 11th so I will see you guys then, if you cant hold my spot, no problem, but I hope to be in it if it works out w/the no year pick.

We'll use the Draft Utility where you declare a season when you draft- BUT you can change that player to any season within the time range we're playing.

For your Babe Ruth example:

Season 3: 1910-1919 and 1980-1989
Season 4: 1920-1929 and 1970-1979
Season 5: 1930-1959 and 1960-1969

Someone will draft Babe Ruth in Season 3, his 1st season of WIS eligibility and probably use him as a pitcher in his 1915 or 1916 season.

For Season 4, you could use ANY Ruth from 1920-1929.
Season 5, you could use any Ruth from 1930-1959.

You'd have to declare a year before the draft because the draft order each new season is based upon incoming Keeper salary (lowest incoming salary to highest)-- BUT you can DOWNGRADE to a cheaper version if it works best with your team.

(Incoming Keeper Salary seems to be a great way to avoid tanking. You may cut more guys than usual to try to get a stud player, but the rest of your team might suffer. All in all it seems to be fair and works.)

We'd love to have you, man & I'll tentatively put you down. If you still really don't like the Keeper policy, no problem man, we can take you off the list, no hard feelings.

And the way most Leagues fill these days... probably won't be til August until we get this one rolling, lol... I HOPE by August, lol.

as long as I can change my players year after the draft Im in (except for the keepers which have to be named b4 the next draft right?) no dh

also is it a snake draft? or do we have the same times each day? either way Im in if the above is correct.
7/6/2009 7:32 AM

Yes, you can change your years after the draft as long as the salary is less. So declare the highest salary you might use.

Snake draft set by the impartial Draft Utility. As long as the draft is set up for 12 hours (9am- 9pm) we'ff have the 2 draft times every day.

If you do 10 minute picks, 12 hours is actually 3 rounds a day. 15 minute picks is 2 a day.

By the way, no DH.
7/6/2009 11:47 AM

ahhh...good point :-)) Well I guess we'll do 15 minutes per pick, lol.
