The 1978 Tigers end their Free Agent search with the surprise signing of New York MetsSP - Craig Swan.

It was a toss-up between him & high-priced FA - J.R. Richard, or his Houston Astro teammate 3B - Enos Cabell. However Swan's control & price-tag were right up ownership's alley & the club's decision to go with slick fielding/light hitting Aurelio Rodriguez at third solidified the decision...........

The 1987 Mets step up to the plate with their Free Agent signing, Wade Boggs.

A spokesman for the team stated, "as much as we love what Hojo could bring us with his bat, Mr. Boggs is an even more dangerous hitter, and possesses a glove that, frankly, Howard just doesn't can't compete with.

Ok...how about the 1983 Philllies with Jim Rice.
10/6/2009 10:11 AM
alright...I'm going to try again and go with the 1994 Chisox one more time. I think the 94 Barry Bonds should be an upgrade over Darrin Jackson.

Due to the update I've had to switch my teams - my 1978 Tigers(w/FA Craig Swan) came in @ $94.6M before the update & comes in now @$91.8M. No matter how much juggling I do, I'm not going to fill the extra(nearly)$4M

So, mgmt has decided to hop in the time machine & move to the Mistake by the Lake. Staying in the AL to avoid any further conflicts.

If cleared with the commish - I'd like the 1976 Indians & Free Agent - Randy Jones

"I had my fingers crossed during the vote. Basically, if it was $90 million I would be unemployed. But as soon as FK6 announced that $95 million would be the salary cap, my phone rang and the 1996 Mariners called me up and said we're going pay you $3.1 million to be a reliever. I'm really happy right now" - Rusty Meacham of the '96 Mariners said.

"I was a little bitter about my contract of $3.8 million, but when $95 million was announced, FK6 earned my respect by paying me $4.8 million to be on the team" - Jay Buhner of '96 Mariners
