While I'd prefer 12 cycles per day personally, doing 10 Cycles per day instead of the current 6 would drop us from 85 days down to 51 days in a season.

More money for WiS, more entertainment for us...

also, the pre-season could be stretched out a bit so, for example, there's more than an 8-hour window for arb.

That way, people wouldn't have to adjust their sleep schedules at all. There'd be games in the morning (the current 3am cycle) and then again at 11am, 3pm, 7pm, and 11pm. I just think having a 7am game would turn a lot of people off since a lot of people, even those who work 9-5, don't wake up before 7.

we're not all in the same time zone though

yeah you could budget normal allotments of time for arb events, setting budgets, approving trades, etc...

I think it'd have to be a new world, WIS has shown they'll make a rare exception to create a new world, this would fit the bill

you'd want to limit this to vets, and get a rock solid commish at the helm

Isn't hartjh14 looking to commish a new World?

Even on the West Coast the times work out fine. I guess any world like this would have to get owners from similar time zones (such as, for example, people in the continental U.S.) but that said it would still work.

Honestly you might as well put everyone on equal footing and do a game every 4 hours without skipping anything.

Checking in after every game is nice, but hardly necessary. The whole purpose of such a league would be to have it done twice as fast.

I'm sure the burnout rate for such a league would be a bit higher, but it's definitely only for the hardcore and something worth exploring.
9/23/2009 1:36 PM
Or you could just have 2 games sim every 8 hours. You'd need to lock in both SPs, and would have to have the same lineup if two RHP or LHPs start against you.
9/23/2009 2:42 PM
That's certainly another possible method they could consider.
9/23/2009 3:32 PM
Dumb idea. If you need more than 3 game SIMS in a day, one every 8 hours, with a cycle in the middle of these, perhaps you can get a life.

You need the 8 hours in between to be able to log on and make adjustments and do game related things.

Go get some meds for OCD...

Here's WiS response on the idea:

"Unfortunately this isn't possible right now given the current structure of the game. It may be something we explore in the future, but it's not going to happen anytime soon."

If someone wants to play twice as much, they can get a second team. Why should WIS screw with their programming needlessly?
9/23/2009 11:10 PM
The Baseball season is a marathon, not a sprint, the old saying goes. I wouldn't mind having HBD games only twice a day, on a twelve hour schedule.
