I'm sure it would be a programming nightmare. In my 50someodd seasons, I've never been tied for a playoff spot. And I can only think of one time that it ever happened in one of my worlds.
It's happened to me at least twice. Once for a division title, the other for a wild card. Lost both tiebreakers and missed the playoffs both times
Back in S1 or S2 in American Pastime, I finished in a three-way tie for first in my division, at 96-66 I think. I lost the tiebreaker for division title, and since another non-division winning team had more than 96 wins, when I lost the second tiebreaker too I was out.

In one of my leagues we have a 4 way tie...with 2 to go.....thankfully we are playing each other to avoid a mass confusion.....only 1 of the 4 will be out though...1 will get the division and the other 2...the top wild card spots....but I have seen it a couple times in my time in HBD....rare though...

They don't have 1 game playoffs for wild card teams in MLB. And for division, only if it's lose and go home. If a team is going to be a wild card anyway, MLB doesn't have a playoff game.

HBD season ends on PM2, playoffs start on the following PM. Have the game during the AM cycle. Easy.

I think they do. For example, last year, entering the final day of play, the Brewers and Mets were tied for the NL Wild Card. Had they remained tied after that day, I seem to remember that there would have been a 1-game playoff in the Mets' park to determine the Wild Card winner. It was avoided, though, when the Brewers won and Mets lost game 162.

Then what exactly were the Rockies and Padres doing the day after the season in 2007?

yeah mitch is wrong here...

And actually, had the Mets not lost on the last day of the season that year, there would have been an absolute mess that would have taken 3 days to decide. Mets and Phillies would have tied for the NL East title, with the same record as Colorado and San Diego. So there would have been a 1 game playoff for the East, with the loser going into a 3 team playoff for the wild card.

What is the tiebreaker? Head-to-head?

In American Pastime we are in a situation where we could have had four teams tie for the 2nd seed. I could see it getting pretty complicated to program with all the playoff spots available.

i've been tied 2 seasons now for first in my division, a 1 game playoff would have been nice.
