what game was this?
It's all over youtube, but I don't think it was against Texas A&M...it was against UAB IIRC. Although they did it twice last year...

It's highly unlikely and shouldn't happen, but Chris Webber shouldn't have called timeout either against UNC. Maybe Tang is just not a smart player/thought you were losing and fouled quickly. I lnow it's not real life, it's a sim and these things shouldn't occur in a sum. I think the wording is bad. If it said he was callled for over the back would it appear any better?

Either way I'd still be ******,

over and back is just as ridiculous. you physically cant go over and back in 1 second.

He posted over the back not over and back, if that makes any difference...

Sorry to beat a dead horse, but this is still incorrect.

The situation in question is a play where the offensive team is coming off a time out. The play selection is a catch and shoot (the only option). If the ball gets to the offensive player its a shot. The only way its a foul "on the floor" is if the foul happens before the ball gets in the hands of the offensive player. If this happens no time runs off the clock and its FT time.

Time ran off the clock, so there HAD to be a shot attempt. If there was a shot attempt and a foul, it should have been a shooting foul.

There is NO way this should have been a foul on the floor.

Maybe he got fouled in the act of catching?

catch and shoot.

either the clock started, which means the player received the pass and was in the act of shooting

or the clock didnt start, and he was fouled on the floor before the shot

If the d player and the O player get to the ball at the same time it is definitely possible and in the number of games WIS sims it is likely to occur. Think of it like a WR in football going up for a pass and the D making contact as soon as the ball gets there. Time would run off the clock if contact was made as the ball arrived and the O player would not even have had to ever completely posessed the ball. A play like that vs a Shaq type player might even be prefferable to letting him catch the ball in the paint since he would be less likely to make the free throws.

Bao Tang is whistled for the reach-in on Morris. Foul #3 on Tang [double bonus]

It was an inbound pass where the defender was called for a reach-in foul (more than likely trying to knock the ball away or get the steal, happens all the time in basketball)and does not require much time to run from the clock. kelby's team was already in the double bonus. It would not have to be a shooting foul for his opponent to get to the line.

Like tpob said - if both the O and the D collide on the same play simultaneously then the foul would be called and time would still run. Maybe the problem is the refs didn't review the tape and give kelby .01 seconds after the FTs to get the ball back.
