How would you rank these three pitchers? Topic

kjd is basically right. I think you could win a WS with #2 as your SP1; he'd be among the best 20-30 SPs in all 3 of my worlds. But he's not going to win a Cy Young except in a fluke season, and he's disappointing as the #3 pick in the draft. And he's the best of them.

I'd be looking at position players if this was my choices for the #3 pick...

Vic Molina is pretty damn close to your righty usfbully. I used to have the exact same thinking, I loaded up on guys like this with a really good righty split and a lower y split but I found that they were getting beaten up by the ies pretty badly. I'd rather have 60-60 over 50-70 from now on, or 70-70 over 80-60.

I like #3 best. The vR isn't great, but he'll K a lot of guys, and I like the pitch quality and control.

I'd probably rank #2 next, then #1.

But I don't think any of these guys is a future ace. A quality SP -- but probably more of a #3 than a true ace.

That's probably the best advice. Take Best Player Available.

The two best players are both undecided, have scholarships to play D1 football. There is a SS who has the defense, and will make contact with great splits, but no power or speed.

Undecided may be the best route, they should sign, and if not you get the #4 pick in the next draft.

I have noticed that this leagues 4 completed drafts, plus this future draft has been much weaker than my other league. The guy I got at 31 in my other league would probably go top 15 in this league.

And I know overalls dont matter but this league hasnt had a player better than 85 projected overall and my other league had 2 or 3 guys projected into the 90's.

sounds like you are due for a good draft next year then.

Yeah, its frustrating though as I have 4 picks in the top 60. I was hoping to get a stud and at least one more ML starter, and I might not get a player at all this year.

I would totally go with the undecided guys. Especially if they are good hitters. If one of them doesn't sign, you get pick #4 next year, like someone said earlier. It's the way to go.

I'm not that impressed with the pitchers either. I'd go with the "Undecideds" too, but make sure you have enough budgeted in prospect payroll to offer their demands. Don't those guys often ask for unusually high amounts, like 6-8 mil regardless of round drafted?

Not always, but it is typically between 20-50 percent more than slot in my experience.

But...again...if you don't like the cost vs. the player, after the rejects your offer, don't pay the new amount and get the comp pick next year.

Ive got the money in scouting, I would not like to punt this draft, but it may be the only option.
