This may be a very good season - exhibitions were a win vs Wichita State and a one-point loss vs #10 NU, and now I've opened up with a win AT Wisconsin-Green Bay. Not a bad start.

But I've got to keep Folse away from the senior SG slump - I'm decreasing his distro, and I'm gonna try him as both an SF and a sixth man if I have to. In return, I'll be able to lean on Weir (a junior SG) and maybe Snyder, Jepsen, Boggess et al. My team is playing like a group of veterans, even though my classes are currently 3/3/3/3.

The local recruits are good, though, so I'll have to play it by ear about jumping to a better program. I'd love to see if I could get into the Big Ten, maybe...

Corn - maybe we can trade swamp and cash to the Patriot for you? I'm sure we could get that swap approved.

I'm not sure Northwestern is really the 10th best team out there - we were lucky to escape with a win at your joint even in an exhibition.

3-0, all on the road. Tonight, I'm going to try starting Snyder (92 Reb, PF/SF type) at the 3 and using Weir as a sixth man.

That worked, but I'm still trying different stuff.

So that's 4-0, all on the road, against beatable opponents. Now I have a five-game homestand, beginning with three games against undefeated over-700-average teams.

I hope to win one of those three games - counting a probable loss against Dartmouth and a probable win against NM State, that would land me at 6-3 heading into the border battle at Dartmouth.

I'm not sure how good 6-4 is - two sims on the schedule, bad. Lots of teams who will do well in-conference, good. The Citadel, probably bad. 2-3 home and 4-1 away = 6.8-4.8 = 59%, good. If I can go 13-3 or 14-2 in-conference again, I'd be looking good for the NT, I think. I think.

So far so good - got a couple of signature home wins over Wofford and High Point, so:

Here's the matchup for my home game against UMKC tonight. It should be interesting - I expect to win by double digits due to UMKC's being a Sim, but they ARE a first-year Sim, and the stats are close:

These are, as usual, ratings averages weighted by minutes per game.

EDIT: Doubled UMKC up, 78-39. Some crazy stat advantages: FG% .492-.275, 3PT% .500-.235, REB 47-27, AST 19-8. So that's what a decent human coach and an A- HCA can do for ya.

Okay, here's what we've got after 10 games. My out-of-conference schedule :

I hope that many of these teams, especially the first few, improve their records.

And here's the conference. Promising starts from Lehigh and Vermont, but a bit of a disappointment from Maine.

Prater - an experiment on my part - is looking really interesting. He's a (redshirt) freshman.

ATH/SPD/DEF: 83/80/67
STAM: 90
IQ: B+/A-

but his cores are only 55-66-94. He'll still be a pretty good PG, though - and the elite ATH/SPD/STAM/IQ should make him a formidable press defender.

The most dominating win I've had in a while, on the road against Colgate:

Big game tonight - I'm at 18-4 and currently holding on to the 1-seed... and so is Navy. At least it's in Patrick Gym... let's see if I can fill the place with crazy fans.

After the Navy game, I'll have off day, at NH, off day, vs Lehigh, vs Maine. The Maine game might decide who gets the 1-seed, so this is a big stretch for me.

But first things first... gotta beat sinatra. For those of you keeping score, my record against sinatra is currently 8-5, and here are the minutes-weighted ratings averages:
