Jackie Robinson moved to second to make room for Hodges. He was a great fielding second baseman who led the league in fielding three times. I only saw him at the end of his career and the Dodgers were so good it was hard to say how good he was (in my eyes). The Dodgers had Snider, Hodges, Campanella, Robinson, Furillo and Reese. The Yankees had Mantle. Berra was good too but mostly it was Mantle. And they always beat the Dodgers except when Mantle did not play in game 7.
