I think you should consider recruiting better defenders. Just three players over 55 means, only two fo which get significant minutes, means you have to shoot 50% or better to beat your opponent.

The DEF isnt the biggest deal with the team. They play a zone in D-II so it doesnt matter as much. You need to recruit better players and with the B- prestige you should have been able to get more talent.

I didn't go defense because I play a zone and I thought it was a total team def with zone. Does anybody have a clue as to why I turn the ball over so much. I thought my guards had good ball handling and they are the ones turning it over.

SO you thought your plater DEF ratings didnt matter?

The only thing that matters here is the guy is going 8 deep and his starters are playing a ton. It was mentioned before but then disregarded. Idk if you use fatigue settings but go 10 deep and put starters that are much better then the backups and getting tired and all the rest at fairly fresh (basic strategy for a non press or FB team)

It is more of a team effect with zones. I've seen some coaches put in into perspective this way: in a 2-3, the guards' def abilities are averaged. So if you have 1 good defender and a bad one, it's like you have an OK total defense on the perimeter. Then the same goes for the 3, the Fs and C are taken as a whole. If they're all bad, then you still have a poor defense on the interior. Having high Ath/Spd and Def IQs is another way to make up for bad Def ratings. As a group, I'd want faster guards than what you have. The extra speed should help them cover more area.

I've taken all advice so far. I've actually put one of my better defenders in as a starter even though he is not an all around better player and it seemed to help last game. My fatigue settings are all set at fairly fresh except my C and PF position at getting tired. Is fairly fresh a problem? It seems that they still play a lot of minutes. When I put it at getting tired they were playing even more minutes though. Should I go to minutes instead? Someone mentioned the rebounding, but I outrebound my opponent in almost every game which is strange for a 2-3 defense, but I do get plenty of offensive boards. Does anyone have any ideas on how I should be setting my +/- defensive settings in team game plan. That part really confuses me bad.
