I understand that correlation does not necessarily mean causation and there are probably a couple of other factors that play a role. In that particular team's context, it appears to play a big role. I can enivision circumstances where it might not (i.e. extreme hitters parks, mediocre to lousy defenses, etc.).

As far as where 'silentpadna' comes from, well that's a long-winded story too.

Agreed. The bad pitch quality is a problem. A high-PC C might get the ERA closer to 5, but there are limits as to what you can expect.

He might be more useful as a mop-up guy and emergency SP.
