Can't you just politely disagree? Why are people so rude?

Shobob - because some children don't have parents who care enough to teach manners.

jaydon - shobob's larger point is still correct. more than one of those guys will likely lead to fatigue problems on your staff sooner rather than later.

You should be able to fill your SS spot + the last 2 spots in your pen for $2m or less this way. If you sign 1 or 2 FA pitchers during spring training, the prices will have fallen. Say $3m for 2 pitchers. THat leaves you plenty of cash to go after maybe 3 higher dollar FA pitchers during regular FA. Make sure to leave $1-2m at least for in season moves. It sucks to see s guy you want on the waiver wire and not have the $800k to claim him
I think this is sound advice!

After spring training starts am I going to be able to find quality bullpen help on the FA market?

For instance, Ted Lewis. He isn't that good but he can be a long relief mopup guy. But will he be signed during free agency before spring training or will I be able to get a deal on him when spring training starts?

Some pitchers like that will go during FA, some will fall to Spring Training. You may not get that guy, but you'll get someone of similar quality. Don't wait to the very end of Spring Training, or the other vultures will beat you to the best overs.

Also, by the end of ST, some of them are likely to have lost some points in their ratings. Apparently it is very taxing to sit at home wondering how you are making that next payment on your Escalade.

Yes, there are always a few guys who linger.

For instance, Ted Lewis. He isn't that good

Right, he isn't good. Don't sign him.

Not gonna have much choice.....got a team with too many huge contracts. Had I not traded away my 20 million dollar man my bullpen would've looked like crap.

Instead, it only slightly resembles crap and I have one atrocious starter but I'm trying to work on that too. Trying to trade a 2b (a good one at that) and hope that I can get a couple of younger pitchers, clear about 5-6 million and maybe get a decent 2b/ss off the FA market.
