A- loyalty, can’t move up Topic

How many wins do you need to go from D2 to D1? I would like to move up to Georgia Stae from Minnesota Duluth. I should make the NT two years in a row as of this year. I just like Georgia State, because I am from Atlanta.

If you have the loyalty (usually 4 years at your D2 school) a NT appearance should do it for you, Georgia St. is a D-. A win in the NT would assure it.Wins are a bit irrelevant, it's more about what you do in the post-season (for that jump, it doesn't seem to correlate at the BCS level much at all).

Awesome! I hate leaving this school because the school prestige should be A- if I have a strong finish this year and win a couple in the NT. But I also want to get Georgia State while it is available, not that it would be really desirable to anyone that was just looking at it unless they were just partial to it for reasons other than how poorly it has performed.

I understand toysboys losing out on a job with a coach with a similar resume even a little less successful, yet more loyal. But in the end I would think that schools should take into account a coach's reputation as well as his loyalty on atleast an even level of importance
Its not that he can't get a job, its that he can't get the job he wants. If he set his sights a little lower he would be just fine. This is the same problem I am having right now, is it better to move up to DI right away, even to a lesser school, or to stayt and wait for a better job. I think, especially with his A- Loyalty, he is better to wait, otherwise it will drop even further down and it will take 5-6 season to have a chance to move up even higher.
There is more to it then his loyalty.  Not saying that it isn't a part of it, but it is not the whole story.  Can't move up to D- DI teams with an A+ in both loyalty and reputation.  Been with this team for 7 seasons and have seen the post season 3 of the past 4 seasons.  Sent in a ticket to CS and was told that I need to string together a few seasons that end with me in the post season to move up.  Never more then 11 loses in any of the seven seasons and can't move because I missed the post season once in the past four seasons.  This is why we keep losing coaches at an alarming rate.
