I'm not certain the sim is quite as complex as you believe it to be genghis.

Remember, the discussion is not about the relative value or RF vs LF in real life, but instead the relative value here in HBD.

I'm finding this very interesting...

So my question is: does the HBD Sim take into account a RF's arm in whether or not to send a base runner to an extra base?

Or, is taking an extra base on a RF with a poor arm solely up to the owner/manager noticing this, and adjusting their base running aggressiveness accordingly?

Of course, if my 2cd question is true - that the owner of the team needs to adjust their base running aggressiveness in order to take advantage of the poor RF arm, then they may open their team up to the possibility of losing runners because of the cannon in .

Now if the sim takes the arm's into account when deciding to send runners, then it will be over aggressive when the ball is hit to right, and conservative when the ball is hit to .

Somehow, I doubt the sim is that intuitive. So, I've come to the conclusion that it would be best to play Merrick in LF and Rooney in RF, to take advantage of that extra chance/game.

I think it's more about the relative value of ratings for their positions. I think neither corner outfield position requires a great glove, but right field requires a much better arm.

Even if you work with the assumption that the sim logic doesn't take outfielder arms into account in deciding to take an extra base (a glaring omission if true), the rf vs. lf assist numbers are not quite the pont. It's more about the assists you lose and extra throwing errors from having a much weaker and less accurate arm in right field.
