BUT do you really think Pick #1 Lebron and pick #24 Player X will be beatable?? The ABAB format is great only IF you can choose from a bigger pool of players....

I guess I'd like in on this, I'd like to use my adjusted per 48 minute stats to draft my team.

I'm pretty sure the 08-09 draft league and the 07-08 league before it were both ABBAA. There was good reason in those years. There's probably good reason this year, too.

ABBAA is def. appropriate. Snake style is the only way to draft in WIS, fantasy, et. all.

Third Round Serpentine looks exactly like a snake draft except that the first two rounds are reversed. The person who drafts first in Round 1 goes last in Round 2 AND Round 3, meaning that the person going last in Round 1 goes first in Round 2 and Round 3 - hence the "flip". After that change in Round 3, it continues to snake down the draft board, just like before, so the twist occurs between Rounds 2 and 3.

really the point is this... the first pick in round 1 is worth more than the first pick in round 2. The first pick in round 3 is worth more than the first pick in round 4...etc.

The drafters at the end of round 1 never get back the value they lose by choosing last in the odd numbered rounds. Going ABBABABABABAB mitigates that.

I actually prefer to go ABBA ABBA ABBA, but ABBABABABAB seems to be easier for everyone to follow.
