Not one person complained. What makes you think days later someone would finally complain? Bad, bad mistake. A game killing mistake, IMHO.
I'm completely with you, thou shall not replay games should be a gaming company commandment, seriously. Even when stuff arguably went way wrong in CRD when I was there and norbert wanted to re-run the races, I begged him not to re-run them, as did others, and he ended up not doing it.

If something bad happens, own it, but fix it from that point forward...don't start backdating tweaks/fixes/corrections.

I don't really understand the arguement that the games shouldn't have been replayed...
If, after game 6 of suns-lakers tomorrow, it comes out that the lakers hoop was 10 1/2 feet every quarter for them, you would expect the outcome to stand?
If the game was not operating as intended, how can you possibly ***** about redoing the games in a fair manner?
And to everyone threatening to quit. Please do. Your outrage at a fake basketball game is annoying. HD will be better off without you.

If it was 10 1/2 for both teams (like this how it happened to both) then its no big deal. Its not like 1 hoop was 4 feet and the other was 22. Seble is acting like it was some major thing that punished one team and rewarded the other or some crap.

Yo, give me ur oregon team. just site mail me.
5/28/2010 7:25 PM
I don't have a team in Knight. What happened there? Please don't abandon Oregon, you will have a killer roster in a season or two.
5/28/2010 7:32 PM
Nevermind. Just saw it. Rerunning tourney games was a bad idea.
5/28/2010 7:33 PM
Even if it's 10 1/2 for both teams. Doesn't that give the lakers an edge with their size? Whatever, the analogy isn't perfect, analogies suck that way.
I think teams were taking more threes or something? If it isn't, let's pretend it was. I have an interior team, my opponent has a three point team... If the diameter of the rim was increased by 3 inches, that would provide more of an advantage to the three point heavy team. This changes the game, and it was done on accident, therefore the only "fair" course of action is to replay the game with the appropriate rims...

Read above. In the NT some ratings dropped like 10-20 points overall so he cleaned it out and went from the FF back to the sweet 16 before some minor ratings dropped. Now, most the teams who were in the final four before the reset are no longer in the final four because they lost when they reran the games.
5/28/2010 7:34 PM
Wait, is that the actual flaw? The ratings dropped? That's not what I had thought happened...
My opinion may change if that's the case.
Not on people being outraged at a fake basketball game though, that one I still hold...
5/28/2010 7:37 PM
Nah I think the games should be replayed anyways if the games weren't played as they should have been... But I'm certainly not as adamant about it now. :)

yea, they all dropped a point here and there. each team suffored the drop, so noone got any advantage/disadvantage.

Ya ok, maybe that was a little silly to replay the games...
But if you wanna leave and give me one of your teams, I'm on board with the guy who wanted Oregon... I'll take one.

That is not true.

Some teams practiced and some did not.

The difference was as much as 20 overall points (which can be as much as 20 per player).

Ya if that's the case. Games replayed.
