1 thing that drives me crazy about FT% is how much its tied to fatigue. HD players that are fatigued at all shoot way worse than they should. IRL, I don't think fatigue has that big of an impact on guys. It should have a little impact but not much.

Ok well Seble told me this was pretty much impossible to do, so this is not the official D1 Coaches thread

Agreed, kelby. I made that exact point during beta -- of all the things that fatigue impacts, ft shooting should be quite low on the list. If a guy is fatigued and gets beat back up court or doesn't quite get the box out on a rebound, etc. that makes sense. But (unless a guy is unbelievably fatigued) I don't think ft should be effected in a really significant way.

This is not true. Just because there is no IQ rating in GD like in HD doesn't mean there is no IQ. Someone decided that since they couldn't see it, they would not practice it and put all their minutes in individual skills. Then it became a forum fact. There is still no study by anyone or any data whatsoever to support it. But coaches have done it and been successful so it became a trend.

You ever shot FTs in the last few minutes of a game? Has more of an effect then you think. Just the hear rate fluxuation can screw with you not to mention legs. Plus the game doesn't account for pressure so maybe the added fatigue drop makes up for that.

I still like this idea...

So can anyone give me zone advice. Ive never really used it (at least for awhile) and dont know how to adjust the positioning and from 2-3 to 3-2 anywhere near as well as when I use man or press.

Nobody would go to it. I don't see the point. Maybe I don't pay attention as much, but I am not seeing many people going around answering 'advanced' questions in general, and the rare times it happens its usually not from someone who has never been in div I.

Here are a couple of topics to kick this thread off.

What will the impact of these new superFrosh with their 800+ overall ratings be? I think some coaches will plan their strategies to expect 1 season and then EE. Will we see these superFrosh starting games? Will they become AA? Thoughts.

With the apparent death of the Press, what will happen to combo defenses? Are they still usable?

Has anyone seen any impact from the 5/27 announcement of reduced impact from IQ?

Given the increase in fouls in this new engine, will coaches start considering FT% more when recruiting?

What do you mean, "death of the press", Weena? Four of the top six teams in DI Allen run press. You can still absolutely, positively be extremely successful and win championships with the press. It's just not the ridiculous cure-all that it had been in the previous engine.

Re: the fouls issue, I'm still hoping that the foul stuff gets corrected. Fingers crossed.

You are right as rain, girt. That comment was made during a full moon when the hair on my knuckles was growing out of control. The Press was only mostly dead until Miracle Max created a pill that revived it. It still works great with the right player skills and IQ. It may not be magic anymore but it can still be highly effective.
