LBJ will never win an NBA championship Topic

I loved D-wade and Bosh teaming up but LBJ and Wade both need the ball in their hands to be effective neither are great off the ball players... in two years one of them will get traded because there are gonna be issues. Everyone loves the look of it but bottom line is their isnt enough offensive oppurtunities for them to be happy. Not even mentioning that they are going to have 0 good role players or bench players. Maybe i'm wrong. We will see

One good thing to come out of all of this though.  He's forever removed his name from the debate of Greatest Player of All-Time.  The GOAT simply wouldn't accept riding someone else's coattails to a title.  Lebron made that decision.  He's Dwyane Wade's lackey, and for that, can NEVER be considered the best ever, regardless of how many titles he buys (oops, I mean wins.  If they even win one, and that's no guarantee).  He's the NBA's version of A-Rod (and that ain't a good thing).

Well, well, we've got a comedian in the bunch.  It's how he's going about doing it, Chuckles.  Find the interview he gave in 2006 where he said he wouldn't chase rings.  My, times seem to have changed.  If you had bothered to read my post, you might have noticed the "coattails" part.  He is now playing ***** to Dwayne Wade.  GOAT wouldn't ever do that.  He's just trying to take the easiest route he can, but ultimately, it'll backfire.

In case you're too busy trying to come up with clever little quips (and really, they're not that good.  In any of the threads in which you post), he was quoted as saying "I don't want to go ring-chasing.  I want to stay with the Cavs and build a champion".  Yeah, how'd that work out?  Just another spoiled member of the "It's all about me, instant gratification" generation.  I don't know how many of you have actually seen his interview that night, but two things jumped out at me.  (1) He is, without a doubt, the most egotistical person that I have ever seen, and (2) he's not very intelligent.  Oh, I'm not saying he's not literate, he's just not very smart.

I think it's pretty telling to read/hear the comments from some of the guys who played a generation or two ago, basically saying, "MJ would never have done this", etc. On pure physical ability, I think LeBron is unmatched. I don't know if we've ever seen someone like him in any sport. But what differentiates him from MJ (and Kobe, and a couple others) seems to be that go-for-the jugular, killer instinct. And I'm not even saying that Bron is soft, only that he doesn't measure up in that category to MJ, Kobe and the other true killers.

On a semi-related aside, I thought Dan Gilbert's rant was the single craziest, most ridiculous public statement I've ever seen from an owner. (As I type this I'm remembering some anti-Semitic and racist Marge Schott stuff ... but this was different because Gilbert's diatribe was specifically meant to be public ... Lord only knows what's said behind closed doors by others.) Can't believe Gilbert's people didn't reign him in and stop him from ending up on SportsCenter sounds like a petulant, bitter six-year-old.

you seem to think someone who calls himself "the king" staged an ESPN special to announce he'd signed on to play second fiddle to an inferior player, and you're presenting this as fact.

i just didnt think you were that stupid.

i don't come up with clever quips, i really just point out every instance you completely make things up to support your complaints.

exhibit a)

"(1) He is, without a doubt, the most egotistical person that I have ever seen"

and

"The GOAT simply wouldn't accept riding someone else's coattails to a title.  Lebron made that decision."

these are directly contradictory of eachother. i personally agree with the former, dude has a huuuuge ego, and he's gonna step all over dwades feet....not get carried by him.

First of all, genius, you can't give yourself a nickname, it's tacky and egotistical.  Second, let me ask you a very important question.  Who was already in Miami when this decision was made?  That would be Dwyane Wade.  That makes it his team.  Lebron joined Dwyane Wade's team, not the other way around.  Have you not read any of LBJ's comments?  "Now the pressure's not all on me", "Now I won't have to score 30 a game", "Now I won't have to shoot a high percentage".  If you don't think that comments like those signify that he's willing to play second fiddle, then I don't know what else to say........
7/10/2010 1:44 PM
dcy, I don't think he's going to be a true second fiddle in any real sense ... but I also don't think he's going to be The Man any more, and his comments do indicate a clear sense of relief over that development. But I don't think he's going to be a second fiddle like, say, Pau to Kobe or Dumars to Isiah or anything like that. I would think more like Pierce/Garnett in 2008.

(Incidentally, the latter is a good example of a player -- KG -- coming to someone else's -- Pierce -- team and really assuming the bigger leadership role. KG really was the soul of that team, though it was a pretty equal division on the court.)

lol @ first sentence, of course its tacky and egotistical....but you just said we were talking about the most egotistical person you have ever seen, whoooooosh

so dwade had a locker first...that makes it his team? if the raptors signed lebron instead..would they be andrea bargnanis team?

lebron also said pat riley wont end up coaching the team, if we keep this up you're gonna be rifling through your dictionary looking for gullable.

pinkeye, the comparison would be going to a team that's already got an established superstar in place who is entrenched with the franchise. Going to Toronto is not analagous in the slightest.

Although I don't think Bron is going to be an actual "second fiddle", I think you're kidding yourself by not acknowledging what this decision represents, and Bron's many comments have strongly reinforced that.

i can acknowledge that dwade is gonna get as many touches as lebron does, i haven't said anything to the contrary.

dcy has used the term "coattails" and "wade's *****", which aren't even in the ballpark.

and wade might be entrenched to the franchise but...whats he done in the last 4 years?

Miami was 15th in avg attendance (behind the raptors) this past year..thanks dwayne! is anyone here gonna tell me they won't be top 3 with lebron?
