So if I only draft say 3 players, where do I get the rest of my players?  The remains of the players in those years minus the drafted ones?
The Indiana Pacers, if I have done my queries correctly (and I am pretty sure that I haven't, but just for argument's sake) have 18 players who played for the Pacers and for no other teams in the span of 1967-68 season to the 1975-76 season.  If you were to select the Pacers, you could build a team from these 18 players and bypass the draft entirely if you wanted to.  If you select the Pacers, and from the 1967-68 season to the 1975-76 season a player has only played for the Pacers, you do not have to draft them.  There are also 30 players who played for the Pacers and also played for another team during this span.  If you wanted to include these players on your team you would have to draft them.  I have not looked at the Pacers closely, but you might conclude that, after drafting you want 6 players from the draft pool and 6 players from the 18 that you would not have to draft, and stop drafting after 6 rounds.
