DICKSHOT & POLE -- LIMP (DEAD) Topic

Dick Pole trivia: "His most memorable moment with Seattle came on August 5, 1977, when he surrendered Reggie Jackson's 300th career home run. On March 24, 1979, the Mariners released him."

Er, slim pickings on the career highlights, I guess...

I'm sensing some performance anxiety among WIS members!

Well, we'll give it until the end of the weekend.   If we can't get a few more in by Sunday night, then this wiener will be cooked.

crazystengel trivia: Should this Dickshot/Pole league not get off the ground, it would be crazystengel's second most interesting theme that flopped.  The first being the Ricky Bobby/Cal Naughton Jr. theme (every owner enters two teams -- one of them to win, the other to run interference with his main competition).

I'll join the league so long as you can wait a few days before entering a team. This league is nuts enough that we could all create some kind of strange team. One thought though....shouldn't we all use Candle"stick" Park?

Thanks for keeping us going, coachgreat1!

Good call on Candlestick, but I'll leave the park up to each owner.  I figure most will go with an offensive park to get Dickshot as many RBIs as possible -- which will make for some fun boxscores, since we'll all be trying to get the mediocre Pole some innings, too.

More DICKSHOT trivia: Dickshot proclaimed himself the "ugliest man in baseball", earning him the nickname "Ugly", as in "Ugly Johnny Dickshot".

If your name is JOHNNY DICKSHOT, why the heck would you need a nickname?  Perfection needs no distractions!

I guess this one's dead.

Maybe we'll revive it in a couple of months and see if we can't drum up more interest then.
