Distribution Engine Question Topic

I think it is very hard to analyze one game from distro perspective - I have taken to looking at five game chunks of the season and it has helped my sanity and my teams' progress - one game just too subject to RNG

Something seems to be wrong with how the new engine is handling the distro.

I just lost my 1st round NT game because the engine decided to ignore my distro of only giving 17% of the shots to my starting SG and 20% each to my starting C and PF, the engine decided that my SG will put up a whopping 25 shots (versus a +1 man to man defense which then adjusted to +3 after half time).

In the end, my center was a whopping 2 for 6, my PF was 8 for 14, and my SG was 10 for 25 (going only 8 for 21 from beyond the arc).  Overall the team only took 58 shots total so my SG somehow took over 43% of the shots (and my center only took 10%).

8 - 21 isn't that bad from three point. . .

bud - the distro setting is - roughly speaking - I think - about how many plays get run for a guy - doesnt address chances he may get off rebounds - needs to be adjusted for plays that end in free throws, turnovers etc - it is NOT an allocation of FGA

I think it also is subject to adjustment by the engine for other stuff that happens

recognizing that one game can show major deviations on any variables, take a look back at what happened when your bigs touched the ball....

also consider looking at the data excluding the last few minutes of the game when your team may have been chucking up threes in catchup mode

Looking more closely at the game, the SIM decided to start subing players in and out to the point where I had my two starting guards playing with my backup forwards and thus causing an imbalance (i.e. low distro for backup forwards paired with a low distro point guard with 17 for the SG in question).

This just makes me want to suggest that they provide us a means to game plan our offense better (i.e. attack the paint, shoot from the perimeter) that isn't so dependant on the play distro (which is our only means to control this facet other than using the shot preferences... like I'd ever tell my center to take more 3s when I want to shoot from the perimeter).

that scenario is for sure an issue that is hard to control
