OR, would you be willing to site mail me your ideas?  Mine involves giving coaches and players personalities with strengths and weaknesses, would be fairly difficult to incorporate without making major game design changes, and so would be unlikely for WIS to adopt.  But I continue to dream.

js - I will, my problem with your idea, is this becomes simcity HD, the reading of words becomes more important that the reading of numbers, and adds several layers of complexity, to a game that already is pushing the limit time wise for many coaches - I used to sitemail everyone who I knew relatively well in the game why they were quiting, the number one reason was time.

My idea would actually make recruiting much simplier & less time consuming, and would spread recruits around more, so the A+ schools would not be able to bully up and get all the top players, would lessen the distance penalty for recruiting, would lessen collusion and FSS sharing's effect,  and would allow everyone to have a better shot at the player they really want, within some limits.  I have played this game for nearly ten years under the current system, some ideas are bound to crop up, eh!

Recruiting definitely needs to be tweaked.  It's waayyy too regional right now, waayyyy too regional.  Moreover, there simply aren't enough quality recruits now to go around.

And I think it would be nice of there were some added nuances, such as if a kid played Flex/FCP in high school, he would probably have a lean to schools that play these sets in college.  Or some guards may be more attracted to your school if you only have 2 guards on your roster and you need immediate depth help and have plenty of minutes to go around.  I know you can promise minutes (and sometimes they're even accepted!), but it seems like this should be more of a factor for many kids.  Some may still want to go to UNC or Duke or whatever, but many probably want to play as much as possible right away.  Jazz up recruiting somehow, it shouldn't simply be find the best kids within 360 miles and stay away from schools that have you swamped in prestige and/or number of scholarship openings.  And there has to be some way for coaches to enter their first cycle recruiting actions so that they don't feel like if they miss that first 2-hr window, they're really hosed.  This has been discussed many times before, but as long as we're talking about recruiting changes, this HAS to be addressed.

And on a related note, where the hell is seble these days?  I haven't heard a peep out of him on any topic in quite some time.  It would be nice if he made some modifications to recruiting before the only ones left are the absolute diehard coaches.  More and more Big 6 jobs go unfilled in D1 and D3 across nearly all worlds are pretty desolate.  If only WIS had a relationship with a big media partner where they could advertise online and reach many eyeballs and potential new coaches, wouldn't that be something?  And it's even college basketball season now, hmm, if only I could connect these dots to figure out a marketing plan....

OR, why not flesh out your recruiting ideas here on this thread?  What's to lose besides time?  Many times this game needs a spark from its respected veterans to catch WIS's attention.  I think this is one of those times.

Edit:  I now see that other thread going about the marketing angle, good job, guess many others are thinking the same thing.  Fox sucks
