That's okay. It is confusing and can definitely hamper your strategy moving forward on the season. I think I'd rather see the communication consistent than have this odd event occur where he changes his mind all of a sudden.

No demands.  You offer what you think they're worth.    Bid too low, **** them off and they refuse to sign with you. 

I bet that would fly like a lead balloon amongst the HBD owners.
