He could demote him, and then waive him.  That should work.

I'm pretty sure death was designating without waivers.  Try designating with waivers.

No.

Happened twice. First one was a "yea, maybe I missed it" so I was more conscious of it with the second; for sure for sure, DFAd with waivers and never hit the waiver wire (had options).

If the pitcher is this good, trade him at the deadline to a team in a tight playoff race. You could snag two or three awesome prospects, depending on how badly the other team want to win.

You know I don't believe you.  Although I will admit you were right about something.  No response to this ticket yet.

Designation without waivers

In Coop, we had an owner designate a player(with options) without waivers. He was immediately removed from the BL roster and the 40. Other teams had no opporunity to claim the player.

I just tested it in MG. I designated a minor leaguer(with options) without waivers. He was removed from the 40 and I immediately assigned him to AAA.

I'm not sure this is how it's supposed to work as we can now remove players from the 40 without consequences. Can you confirm?

Thank you,
Mike

My ticket celebrated it's one month anniversary today. I might take it out for dinner. Someplace nice, but not too nice.

Was going to say that. Demoting could incur a ratings penalty, however.

Not before ST begins.

I would try to find another way to shed payroll, unless you can get something back for this guy. By chance is his last year a team or mutual option? I'd rather dump Bo Parker if I where you and maybe penny pinch somewhere else. The 19.5 guy is overpriced, but should put up decent numbers and ratings haven't really declined to bad yet. Good luck

I found the guy.  The last season of the contrct is a player option.  It's unlikely that he will decline.

Ok its past midseason my team is 7 1/2 games out of 1st place and i put out the feelers to trade the 19 1/2 million pitcher curt brock who is having a GREAT SEASON thanks to better pitching settings but still NO TAKERS on teh trade or BROCK is rejecting all offers.   He has 2 option years left and is Due 20 million for the next 2 seasons.     He is 33 years old and should have a good year or two left in him but I'd rather get 3-4 (5 million) type players or free up money for the YOUTH movement.   My team is the highest in the league at 122 Million.       With no takers what are my options here to releive myself of this guy?

The guy who said I should dumb Bo Parker is funny because 2 months later and this guy has a low 2 something ERA and has over 25 saves!  He's 2nd or 3rd in the  entire league in Saves and has pitched lights out ball for me.   LOL.......looking at his numbers though you wouldnt expect that and i could see why he thought I should dump him.  LOL

ANy advice or help is appreicated!!  I dont want to mess up but do i have anything available to do before the end of the season to get rid of this payroll for next year?

Thanks guys.

You do realize that this game gives out two wild card berths, right?
4/14/2011 11:36 AM
LOL....oh i'll make the wild card with or without Brock!   I'm trying to figure out what my best option is for next season!   20 million is too much for a 34 year old pitcher even if he's pitching LIGHTS OUT in my opinion.   I would love to dump 30-40 million in payroll next season and I'm already looking ahead.    No one wants this guy and the teams that do they can't get him because he has a NO TRADE CLAUSE and rejects everything.    LOL      I didnt pay this guy this contract and I just want him gone............he pitches every 5th game so he has about 10 more games left with me!!!      Just wanting to know if I have an OUT that doesnt require a trade.
4/14/2011 11:42 AM
yeah, I'm not sure what the goal of getting rid of this guy is.  You're looking to the future too much when you have a playoff team that could make a good run.  He's the best pitcher on your team and you want to dump him this season?  If you dumped him for nothing there's a good chance you could miss out on the playoffs.
