I probably did overpay for Jackson in general, but there was a huge bidding war on all CFs in my world.   Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Andruw Shaw got a HUGE contract. Is he 4 times as good as Mac Jackson?  

I took over a team that has never been above .500 in 9 seasons in the league.  Not much to work with here.  Ramirez is my best prospect who is almost ML ready.  

Here's another question...  how do you weight plus/minus plays vs. errors?  Am I wrong to assume plus/minus factors in range and arm while errors mainly reflect glove?  If so, he'll have lots of errors, but should have plenty of range....

Exactly. Jackson is a steal at those prices I figured.

Shaw might be worth $7M...that's it.

Still, I would say you're better off letting somebody else pay Jackson what you are, find some worse CF (weaker bat, OK glove), pay him a couple of million and invest the rest in somebody else.

Ramirez is going to be a sweet utility player; for the purposes just of resting a guy here and there he will be able cover every position on the diamond except SS and C, and for a bench guy he's going to be a pretty solid offensive player against RHP. 

You cant say that Shaw is only worth $7m... It appears that this world is very low on quality CFs, so maybe Shaw is worthy of something close to 10.  Certainly not 16.8 plus a 10 mill signing bonus, that is insane in any world.  Thats the kind of contract you give to the worlds best SP, or like the best 1B in all the HBD worlds combined.  And as for your CF prospect, what most people here are saying is exactly right, your man is going to be a top shelf utility player, or a very under achieving 2b.

Don't sweat what you are paying Your guys, yet - your questions are the right ones to be asking. You are also ahead of your curve playing to your ballpark...took me at least 4 years to get there.
