It would be easier and a lot more realistic if their specialty skills went with their day jobs....that's part of the reason why Baugh/Waterfield/Van Brocklin/Doak Walker etc. were considered Hall of Fame caliber players....
....there will need to be a rule about extra players, or scrub players because when we get to the '50s. when there are only 12 NFL teams, some don't get kickers in the SIM, none will have 3 tight ends to offer, and a good number of the 'subs' are actually defensive ends who didn't catch a pass and probably didn't actually play on offense.
But I'm excited, its an era that no one plays as a progressive, and the versatility of the stars is a big part of the flavor of the era
My sentiments exactly, not only the players mentined above, but even into the 50s' & 60s' it was always neat to see players like Horning, Blanda, Donny Anderson,Gino Cappaletti and several other have a prolonged drive, score a TD and then come onto the field and kick an extra point or hit a "coffin corner" punt. It was just part of the game and if you were fortunate enough to have a player like these on your team you used them every way you could.
Like I said I grew up in the 50s' and 60s' and am so anxious to be able to use these years in a progressive league, it's truly a great idea.
