I'm trying to take a Silver King OL team to the playoffs and my first two attempts don't look good.  One of my SK teams is 44-43 just past the All-Star break with SK paired with Jack Taylor.  I thought fatigue might be a problem but my pitchers are cruising along happy and rested.  If anything, I have too many innings.  I will use SK in long relief between starts now that I'm in the second half of the season, and I'll see if I can coax him over 750 innings.  He's only on a 675 inning pace right now.  He is doing everything I could expect of him -- 25-15, .229 OAV, 1.08 WHIP, 2.52 ERA in his first 44 starts, 27 CG's.  Jack Taylor has been so-so, bullpen is 8-9, 22-for-25 SV/SVO.

My hitting isn't strong enough -- cookies like Carney Lansford, Ken Singleton and Maury Wills have been great, everyone else either needs to be rested too often or is underperforming.  Mitchell Page is 29-for-29 in steals.  Shaybee is burning up my division with a .783 team from hell, and gbonini has a .632 team that should be a lock for the wild card.  My other SK OL team is 20-25.  Back to the drawing boards for my SK teams.

In my 50/50 quest, I will obviously use different pitchers -- maybe Walsh/Chesbro and Keefe/Conway for my first two attempts.  I'll be happy just to get 40/40 for starters.

Well I think Walsh /Caruthers is good combo about 31-32mil so still can get some bully pen & good hitter
With Silver King I think it was Crazy that used him about 2 years ago & win like 75 games or some thing like that

I launched my first 50/50 team (named 50/50 -- took me a while to think of that one) with Ed Walsh and Pete Conway (!?).  They're 10-3; Walsh is 5-0 and Conway is 3-2.  Walsh is obviously the better pitcher and I think I can coax him to 50 wins, although with only 7.03 IP/G he will bleed some wins off into the bullpen.  I have no freaking clue how I will get Conway to 50 wins.  Dumb luck, or maybe something will occur to me during the season that isn't obvious at the moment.  They're in the Astrodome.

My 50/50 team is 26-10 through its first 36 games in an OL.  Surprisingly, Pete Conway is sailing along at 13-3, 2.15 ERA, .219 OAV, 1.10 WHIP.  Ed Walsh has slightly better numbers but he's had some hard luck games.  He's currently 8-5, 1.51 ERA, .215 OAV and 1.08 WHIP. So far Walsh and Conway have 21 of my team's 26 wins, which probably isn't enough.  Even if my team wins 110, a big stretch in itself, it would be a bigger stretch for them to go 50/50.  But we'll see...
