In the wrong? No, not at all. WIS should make it known plainly to their user base that they will not remove an owner from a franchise they purchased fairly, because someone else screwed up, when they had plenty of opportunity to reserve previously. That's why credits are provided 3 days prior to rollover or you can reserve without credits for 3 months during the previous season. IN much the same way, th user base should know that any administrative mistakes will not be corrected because they performed the wrong action on a player.
Someone screwed up and didn't renew an open world team. Someone else took the team, the world started and someone lost their team. I don't see how that is WIS's fault in the slightest. It can't (or at least shouldn't) be an issue from a private world, since the commish would have stopped the league and wouldn't have offered said team to new members since he already had verbal communication that the owner was returning. If it was an private league issue then the commish is either terrible, or the guy didn't communicate that he was returning to anyone in the league, and every league i have ever been in has at least asked for intentions prior to rolling for the new season.
Once an open world team is available and is not reserved, they are all fair game, It's an open league that's how they work. It's equivalent to someone wanting the last pair of jeans in the store, but waiting to buy them for a few days (for any reason). Someone else comes in and buys the jeans on the spot because they can and they are available. At no point does the store go back to the guy and say "hey, someone else has been waiting to buy those for the last few days, but didn't. Would you mind awfully taking a refund, or buying some other jeans so we can sell the jeans you have already bought to him?" You would tell the store to **** right off.
