Many years ago playing sim league baseball I had a minor leaguer named Jesus Goldberg.

In HD, I asked for a name change for Carlos Allen because I already had an Allen on the team (funny that it is the same last name as p6453's guy).  The next time I looked he was Carlos Santana.  You would think he would be an easy going guy, but he tenaciously refused to redshirt and work on his basketball and guitar skills for a year.

As I thought at the time, and again with the switch to Homer Simpson, good to know CS has a sense of humor.

Just checked my team records; Carlos Allen Santana eventually passed Matthew Allen on our career asssists and steals lists.  He must have taken the redhsirt his soph year since his career spans five seasons (23-27).

Some of my favorites:

Thomas Thomas
seems to be a recurring star.
The Godfather of Soul was a National Player of the Year for me.
The 'stache will live forever.
People who are confused about their heritage also amuse me.
A fictional character who kind of looks like the President he was based on.

My first season at Michigan I signed PG David Terrell.  Unfortunately he was much better for Lloyd Carr than he was for me.

Two schools prior to Michigan I was at Army.  My first season there I had a team led by upperclass guards Robert Lee and Andrew Jackson.  That season I recruited the close-but-not-quite Jean Wilder.

Woot woot! Army!

That's great, two graduates. Distiguished ones at that.

Btw, if anyone ever, ever coaches at both Army and Navy I'm going to have to ask WIS to remove you from the site, traitors.

I had a guy named Kermit Dengler. I just thought the first name being associated with a muppet and the last name kind of sounding like "Diggler" made it sound like an inappropriate assocation between kid stuff and porn. He scored 15 pts a game his senior year and all I did all season was post in the CC saying "you got the Dengler".
