There is a reason you don't see teams playing their lead-footed 1B at 2B in extra innings. It's because they make decisions along the way to prevent it. Essentially you're asking SIMMY to make these decisions for you late in games. I don't think it's programmable without the inevitable "STUPID SIMMY PLAYED MY 1B AT 3B IN THE 13TH INNING OF A GAME 7!!!!!"
And once again, why would you have 3b listed as a backup position for your 1bman?
But for the sake of arguement, if your lead footed 3bman pinch hits for your shortstop (a likely scenario), would you rather have the 1bman stay at shortstop, or have him move to 3b and your 3bman move to SS? I know which one I would pick. However, if you don't have 3b listed as a possible position for your pinch hitting 1bman, then it won't happen anyway, he will stay at SS.
