Thanks for those who have tried experimenting with this. I may try it with a spring team too.  I thought about doing this because I have an OL team with which I really didn't draft a very good pitching staff.  And I didn't draft as many IP as I would have liked either. So I thought about just setting all as relievers and letting sparky have at it.  Thanks for sharing your resutls.

I don't see why anyone would want to do this, but just out of curiosity I entered a spring team to see what would happen.  I uploaded the 2011 Red Sox and put every pitcher at Long A with no pitch count, a 3 call bullpen setting, and auto rest of 90%.

My guess is the the pitcher with the most real-life innings on the team (Josh Beckett) will get the first start.  For game 2, I imagine it'll be the pitcher over 90% with the most real-life innings.

Will post 24 hours from now on the results...
The starter chosen was...Daniel Bard, a 73 inning reliever.  Maybe he got the nod because he's got the best OAV on the team?

The locked in starter for game 2 is...also Daniel Bard!  His fatigue is at 0/0, so that's a bit inconvenient.  I'll switch some pitchers to starter roles and see if one of them gets the game 3 start.
Is there any pitcher on the team that alphabetically comes before "Bard, Daniel"? If not, I would suspect this as much as OAV.

I've just set up a spring league to see how this will work.  No problem at all making all the pitchers' roles Setup A.

I ended up going 10-0 in the spring league by setting all my pitchers as Setup A.  Fred Toney was picked to start every time.  So I adjusted his pitch count to 5 and he would face 1 batter at the beginning of the game and then get pulled.  I think I'll try it in an open league sometime and see how it works.  I noticed that rather than switching the pitchers' roles, instead depending on how fatigued they were, I'd go into the advance settings and change their pitch counts.  Seemed to work pretty good.  Would be a lot of managing though.
