curious at less than .500 record you can go Div 1???

One thing to remember while your sticking it out is that unlike D2 and D3, you can be fired from a D1 school.  Even D- prestige D1 schools will get rid of you eventually if you don't perform up to standard.
 
And by the way, I think it's "emy" with an "e", not amy.

yea i already am in D1 but in that world my record is 125-79... i feel I'm a much better coach than my record shows. however i went through many grueling seasons at the beginning of my HD career now i gotta get some steady teams to show how good i truly am and prove all u haters wrong! lol ;)

He's got a 125-79 record in the world where he moved to D1.  Each individual world is treated as a separate entity and your success/failure in that specific world is the only thing taken into consideration for what jobs you qualify for in said world.  What his record in Allen is, for example, has no bearing on what jobs he would qualify for in Crum.

Your overall record has nothing to do with anything really.  That's just the sum total of your efforts in all the worlds you've been in.  Some may be good, some may be bad.  Taken together, voila, there's your overall record.

Well if you play D3 for twenty seasons and you have ten horrible years and then your last ten are great you could have a under .500 record but be qualified for D2 and some d1 jobs. Total record means nothing in the job searching function, just the last ten years.

Think of it like fantasy football.

The fact that you might've crapped the bed with one team and be in last place has absolutely nothing to do that your other team may be a juggernaut. Performance in each world occurs in vacuum ... you're not getting hired in Crum because you did well in Knight, nor would you application in Crum be discounted because you did poorly in Knight.

I don't even understand your comment. This is not something that is even analagous to real world basketball. There's nothing like this. say to say it's "not like real life" doesn't even make any sense. 

So, for those who spent zlot of time in d1, what ARE the standards attached to various prestiges;  for example, what does a d+ require of you as opposed to c- to avoid firing?
