Pretty much... The engine is way too random in it's current incarnation. Example: Our new national champion in Hayes lost this season to a weak talented sim team. Now there are those that argue that can and does happen in real life - but this is a game. I want my actions to lead to specific result, either good or bad. If the engine introduces too much randomness then I am no longer a player but a spectator.

This game really is more like being at the craps table.  You are given the illusion that you have some control but it really is a roll of the dice.  Brilliant game to market for WIS.  Newbies have enough success that they keep trying.  It then takes years of experimentation to figure out that all the planning really helps your chances very little.
