I've won two World Series' in the five seasons of For Life with this team Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - San Francisco Giants Franchise Profile running almost exclusively Tandem starters.
The team was born with a couple of really good relievers with 30-40 stamina and high durability and complete **** for actual starting pitching talent.  I've been running my good relievers out as Tandem B's with a bunch of #5 SP/AAAA (because I don't have anything better) guys throwing the Tandem A side and it has worked better than I thought it would.

Do tandem B starters have to have the relief button checked?

No.

Tandem starters are good for spring training if you have a bunch of guys you want to get some work in. 

I've been using these two guys as 4B in one of my worlds.

My SP are pretty good.  My RP not so much.   So, in order to avoid most of my bullpen, I'm running a 5 man rotation and these two pitch in tandem about 2/3 of the time.   30 appearances in 26 games so far.    They're #4/5 in IP so far with 31/28 IP(top 3 are 35/35/32).

How is that less legitimate?  Jim Leyland did it in Game 5 of the NLCS in 1990.  It's been done a million times and playing "knifey-spooney"  has even a greater impact in this game than in real life
