ESPN's Jeff Goodman told an Alabama fan:

"You're not going to get Gregg Marshall, Archie Miller or Shaka Smart."

Two coaches Goodman said he could see as potential fits for Alabama are Murray State's Steve Prohm and Louisiana Tech's Mike White.

Goodman also mentioned Stephen F. Austin's Brad Underwood and Valparaiso's Bryce Drew.

Rick Ray is out at Mississippi State after 3 seasons.   They were 6-12 in the SEC this year

Why not Bryce Drew. If I was Alabama, I'd chase Drew. He needs to find himself a place where he could hopefully build something special. I think Alabama is the place.

Shaka Smart is overrated. VCU disappoints every season.

Thanks, I've updated the list.

Also, I just found out that Utah State's Steve Morrill announced his retirement in January, effective at the end of the season.  He'd been there 17 years, after stints at Montana and Colorado State.

Arizona State coach Herb Sendek is expected to learn if he will be relieved of his duties at a Tuesday morning meeting with athletic director Ray Anderson, multiple sources told ESPN Monday night.

A number of industry sources told ESPN that staff members have already leaked that they expect Sendek to be fired. But ESPN was unable to confirm that late Monday and calls and text messages to Sendek weren't returned.

Sendek has been with the Sun Devils for nine seasons and gone to the NCAA tournament in 2009 and '14. The Sun Devils have beaten rival Arizona the past two seasons in Tempe. ASU was 18-16 overall this season, 9-9 in the Pac-12 and lost at Richmond in overtime in the second round of the NIT after winning at UConn.

If the Sun Devils move on Sendek, a number of names have already emerged as possible candidates, including Memphis coach Josh Pastner and UC Irvine's Russell Turner.

Sendek's contract was extended by one year to June 30, 2017 by the board of regents earlier in the season.

Alabama is reportedly looking to make a major splash in its coaching search, and it has pegged Wichita State head coach Gregg Marshall as its primary candidate, as Gary Parrish of CBS Sports reported Monday:

Alabama officials are prepared to present an offer in excess of $3 million per year in an attempt to lure Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall to Tuscaloosa just as soon as the Shockers' season concludes, multiple sources have told CBSSports.com.

The sources said Alabama's administration is determined, one way or another, to make a big hire to replace Anthony Grant in response to Auburn employing Bruce Pearl last March, and Marshall is essentially alone atop the wish-list.

MY NOTE: Marshall makes approximately $2 million at Wichita St

I hope he remains at Wichita State.

Yes, Bama only cares about football. Marshall would always be an afterthought there

I'm curious if all of these reports about Marshall and Alabama are going to force Texas to make a move on Barnes, because rumor has it they have interest in Marshall as well.
