OK, as the last place finisher, I'm entitled to some whining. Just about every position starter and starting pitcher grossly underperformed. I'd be amazed when I'd get my scores. Example: L 4-1, L 5-2, L1-0, L11-10, L 8-3, W 10-4. That was typical. Give up lots of runs most of the time but also lose 1-0. Some of my hitters in the end caught fire and ended up only surprisingly underachieving rather than ridiculously underperforming. Example: On one team with tremendous hitters, I barely had one .300 hitter for most of the season. In the end, 4 were hitting over .300 but I'd still lose the games.
When I compared my line-ups to those winning, I was amazed how the winning team's starters performed. It was as if some SIM TECHIE pulled the "slump" lever on all my teams and failed to reset.
It all started when I went on a message board with the observation that the one team that I had with a losing record (at the time) was 1-9 in one run games.
I believe that my teams were uncanny in bad luck, prolonged slumps and rotten results.
OK, I've vented.
