No.  No no no.  You are giving up a first and three super usable players for three completely useless and throwaway seasons of Kobe (like he shouldn't even be on a team and is actually IR this season) and two mediocre seasons of JJ Hickson?  No, **** no.  This is outrageous.

Even if you ignore the horrible numbers by Kobe, one team gets 22.4 million in future salary (ignoring 2015/16 season which makes this even more GROSSLY inappropriate) AND a 1st round pick while the other team sends back 8.9 million in salary.

No, seriously hell no.

Here's my guess...He's got way too many guards on the roster (Prigioni, Mills, Ginobili, Miller, Allen, Korver, Tucker) so he needed to cut a couple (Burks and Bradley) in order to use his #1 overall pick (see the keeper thread).  So, basically that made the trade an open roster spot (Kobe) + Hickson (needs the boards) for JR Smith (another guy he didn't need) and a likely later 1st round pick next season (that he probably wouldn't use anyway).  So, basically he got Hickson for mid-round 1st round pick.
