Thanks guyo, that Texas Southern Team has a geographic advantage over Wyoming in terms of recruiting. It is difficult to find some really good recruits, some of the Montana players have been pretty stellar to be honest.

Holy ^&%$ that texas southern team is insane. I didn't that could be done like that anymore. Granted there's some other good coaches in the conference, and have been over time, but that's an amazing record over 40 or so seasons.

Look at his team composition though obit - cast majority is TX or LA. Still gotta have guys you can get, and all the better if they're close.
That's definitely possible in a conference filled with solid coaches. The Rupp C-USA was the highest demonstration of that, but that TX Southern team and the rest of that MWC shows that. The Allen Summit league showed that even a group in a small conference can develop some solid teams. It just takes a bunch of solid coaches to get together, and most importantly, stay together.

Absolutely. I coach UAB in Phelan, so I watched the Rupp C-USA thing more closely because of that. Not saying that this case is him doing it totally solo, but to my knowledge you guys did the most concerted effort to take a mid major and have it equal/better the big 6.
