I do think that the penalty for changing jobs has something to do with it as well. I like moving around to new schools, but it's very hard now because you are at a big disadvantage since you miss the first session of recruiting, plus you lose the long term coach preference.
this is definitely a big factor. I've considered moves for 2 of my teams the last couple seasons and decided against it when my top options had lots of openings and no hope of signing D1-caliber players in the second session. i didn't want to endure a totally hopeless season with none of my own players. what I've observed is that most of the movement within D1 happens after someone gets butchered in the first recruiting session.
Yes - That would be the time I would be most likely to move now as well. If you already know your team is not going to be that good because of a bad recruiting session, you may as well move at that point, if you were considering it anyway.
