I happily run a combo defense. It’s not a problem.
You can’t have it all. You prioritize and make choices. If snafu thinks it’s really important to spend 54-58 minutes on sets, then he’s going to lose development somewhere else. That’s how games work, there should be no golden ticket or silver bullet.
Not sure where you are getting "golden ticket" or "silver bullet" from. In every one of your posts you seem to relish the experience of wagging your finger at someone and assuming a condescending tone.
I know very well the growth limitations when running a combo defense, and accept that as part of that plan. I don't expect to max my guys out by Jr year, I hope that I may be able to by the end of their Sr. year. For my style of play, the benefits of the combo defense are more important to me.
My complaint is not that there aren't enough minutes to go around as you are implying, or that I should be given some kind of special arrangement since I run a combo. My complaint is the ridiculous inconsistency in this particular instance with this particular player. It is an inconsistency because in 135 seasons I have never seen it happen before. It is an outlier, well beyond the scope of normal or expected. My complaint is that I more than doubled a guys SH practice minutes and did not see any gains at all in his GPA. My complaint is that with far less in SH that I had allocated in the final semester, he pulled a 2.9 GPA, yet with an increase in minutes he could only pull a 1.8. It doesn't make sense, it doesn't add up, it is a terribly annoying outlier that defies logic and has had a tangible effect on my season. If you want to wag your finger like a prissy step-mom with a stick up her bum go right ahead, but at least have the self respect to do it over things actually being argued instead of making up straw men.
