I am trading my 1st and both 6s to steelers for his 2,3,4

Steelers to confirm.
Awful trade, all you have to do is look back at previous ODL trades and see what people usually get. There is no need to give up that much man. Chewy - you should know better.
Just to be fair, I went back to find the last time someone traded to have two picks in the top 15 so I could have some baseline for comparison (assuming that is the strategy argument here). Funny enough, it was steelers. It was a 1, 4, 6 for a 2, 3, 6. So somehow this trade has now conceded the equivilant of TWO fourth rounders in the opposite direction.

Ok, thank you Rob. I always appreciate your wisdom.

My 2 cents is that so many new draftable players create a system where really important/dynamic players go undrafted. These trades never happen in a vacuum, and it should be considered that some luck goes into finding a partner (for both sides) and the previously mentioned fact that you can pair two top 15 players.

I think it will work out well for me. I imagine I’ll get plenty of mid round talent with how crazy this draft is about to be in the 6th to pair with my two top 10 players. With that said yeah chewy got a great deal.

I think you could have seven first round picks and it wouldn’t matter that much since we have a $47 million salary cap. With five of those seven picks you’re still taking $3 million guys. I like this trade for both guys and will be very interested in seeing how it plays out.

I did trade for 12/13 can’t remember which instead of 7. imo different circumstances anyway. I think I’d rather have these draft slots in this season over what I had last time.

If you guys says so, but we have definitely made Ben rework multiple trades in the past so I would say it is pretty unfair to hold Ben to one standard and to hold other users to a different standard. (including steelers who was part of making Ben rework a trade in a recent ODL)

This is really my main reason for being a stick in the mud here, because we need to be consistent. We can't be wishy washy about when and where we decide to enforce what's fair. This is clearly a pretty crappy trade and while the other trades along these lines have mostly involved Ben, everyone always raised a stink because it was Ben and he re-worked the trades.

Well I would say I’m being consistent. My main issue with bens trade was that I felt top picks (maybe top 5-10) have more weighted value than others so more should be given up compared to a standard trade. If it needs to be vetoed so be it but I offered 235 for 16 to two people and didn’t have any takers so I took this trade.

I’d have to dig it up but I am pretty sure Ben had to rework this exact trade at one point (234 for 166). I archived pre ODL-80 in this current dataset.

I’ll find it. I think it was with ronsouth

This trade is a little bit worse than that one imo but I don’t feel as strongly about picks in the 5-10 range.

ODL 70

benhoidal tried to trade his 1 (13), 5, 6b to tcdahn for his 2, 3, 4

was later amended to

1, 6b to tcdahn for 2, 3.

Even Ben tried to give a 5th as a common courtesy reach around.

The big question here is, does reeldeal know it's his turn to make a pick?

I applaud the Full Metal Jacket reference, sir.

The recent trade many are referring to was between Ben and I two seasons ago I think.
