we've done the albatross league before. when was the last time we ran this league? why reinvent the wheel... does anyone still have the player pool we used for that league? it might just need to be updated with a few more players that have come available since then. most of the players on belouds list are prob also on the other albatross list we used. if beloud agrees, that is. it's his league to choose.

one potential problem with sprinkling a few decent players in the pool is that draft order will have a big impact on the league outcome if there isn't an even mix of good / decent / albatross players. So unless we get the mix right, I'd rather just stick to true albatross players which is what I think the intention of the league was

and yeah my idea was to explore the wrinkle irl NBA has, of all-star caliber players who are inefficient and have a bad contract. Almost every team has them. NBA GMs usually have to build around them. But I’m open to Beloud changing it however he sees appropriate

Well 1) that isn’t what this theme is, is it? And 2) we literally have a league that uses only the last two seasons in BOWIS.

I clearly didn't understand the concept until I saw the list but I also didn't ask for all modern players, just some. Now that I see the seasons my biggest question is how did you choose which DeRozan seasons to use?

Does this mean we can you any other season of any other players not drafted? Like LeBron? As long as we make the salary cap?

I ran a query to pick all player seasons that met some negative value parameters, then for player duplicates I used some of those same value functions to sort by worst player season.

So only 2 players from the list won't be drafted?

any thought to banning lebron so we dont have to see him on 20 different teams?

maybe curry and giannis too?

interesting ideas - but this has been a tough prep already and would prefer we don't keep altering the rules while prepping

maybe the way to go in the future is "ban the players from the most recent 1st round of ODL" Just not this time.
