The Death of World Foxx Topic

if 10 or so good owners are going to take new teams then benefitting 5-10 good leagues by picking up the one or 2 available teams would be much more useful - the forums are full of private leagues needing 1 or 2 owners

It should be neither about fixing a world or sticking it to an owner - it is tuff love and survival of the fittest - Foxx made their bed - let them sleep in it - and if no one wants to sleep in it - then let it die

if Wifs wants to expose newbies to worlds like this and turn them off to HBD forever that is Wifs problem - we should be protecting our good leagues and letting Wifs sports deal with the crap ones.

I don't think getting experienced owners who will veto horrible deals, and I checked the trade history and many of those deals were just awful, can be described as sticking it to anyone.

One could argue that we, the "good" owners of HBD, owe it to the n00bs so they don't get stuck in a world like Foxx when they "test the waters".

WifS has long held the stance, and I could argue either side of right or wrong about it, that horrible, unbalanced worlds will not be abolished. So, if WifS doesn't do anything about them, who should?

If WiFs wants to expose newbies to this world and turn them off of HBD forever that is Wifs problem - if they were smart they would kill it - but it is not existing owners job to pull wifs a$$ out of the fire. We should be supporting our good leagues - there are a half a dozen good private worlds needing 1 or 2 owners to play ball. Those should be the priority

griv while I kinda see your point I really don't think you should be telling me or anyone else what our priorities should be.

See? That's where you're being short-sighted. If there are a half dozen good private worlds needing owners, we need to pull in new people. Exposing n00bs and turning them off HBD forever isn't a good thing.

I have read most of the posts and to answer your question, I think you could label it a combo.
1/30/2010 8:34 AM
And, by the way, please name the world that no one signed up for thus leading to it's ultimate "death".

Mike's all about sticking it to the man.

If he were about "stickin' it to the man" - he would be about forcing Wifs to deal with this kind of problem rather than bailing them out - he is a toady

My HBD priorities look kinda like this:

1. My worlds
2. HBD
3. Other worlds

My worlds seem to be fine. HBD has some problems. Worlds like Foxx is one of them. I haven't gotten to examining all the other worlds because, as you can see, I think HBD has some problems. I don't blame you for saying "Screw Foxx" if you're having trouble filling one, or more, of your worlds(see priority #1) but your priorities are not my priorities.

I'm interested to see what WIS does with admitted collusion that's going to happen if that league ever gets filled. It's certainly against the fair play guidelines. If they allow it there, they'll have to allow it everywhere. that could be problematic.

If the new guys veto only the bad trades that the problem owner reportedly likes to make, there will be no problems.

If they attempt to veto every trade that he makes, even the marginally fair ones, then they're asking for trouble.

They just need to be smart about what they're doing.

This is inane. It is not collusion to say I will veto bad deals.

I get the feeling that some people think it's a "Let's screw the holdovers!" It won't be. I think it will be "Let's return some balance to this world." If that includes vetoing deals where two equally skilled players are being exchanged because one is going into his third year of arb and the other is in AAA, so be it.
