On to the next game, overnight tonight, at home, against this Glory team. They go with lefty Slim Sallee (3-3, 2.92) and we have newcomer Barney Wolfe going.

Is there a way to see the fatigue numbers on the other teams?

Decided that I was tired of waiting for Yogi to start hitting and that with Gates Brown not doing schtt he was a 1.8M$ luxury that I could not afford. So I dropped both of them and picked up 1979 Murcer to play LF vs RH and Joe Pignatano as the new backup catcher rather than Berra. Piggy can spell Cochrane occasionally against a LHer.

Glory beats us again, 5-4 this time. We led 4-1 after 6, but they got 3 in the 7th and 1 in the 8th and we never scored again. We got 10 hits and 2 walks against Sallee, but just 4 runs (3 earned). Barney Wolfe allowed just one run through 6, but they got to him for 3 runs in the 7th. Then they hung the loss on Hiller with a stick in the 8th.

Glory got one in the first on an RBI hit from Beau Bell. We then got 3 in the first, RBI hits from Boudreau, Cochrane and Leach. Neither team scored over the next 4 innings. Bottom 6 we added a run on an RBI hit from Speaker. Top 7 and Yogi smacks a 3 run HR for Glory, tying the game at 4-4. Top 8, and Buddy Myer pinch runs for McQuinn and promptly scores from first on Vern Stephens' long double.

Bottom 8 we go down to 3 straight groundouts. Top 9 Jim Henderson has a 1-2-3 inning. Bottom 9 now, we are down a run. Jack Quinn on to pitch for Glory. Speaker grounds out, Cullenbine flies out. Boudreau walks to keep us alive, but Quinn gets McCovey on a weak ground ball to first.

Speaker and Cochrane each with 2 hits. Speaker is now hitting .379, and trails only Eddie Murray of the Yard Dogs in the MVP race.

Okay, we are 20-17 now, 6 games back, and 5 games behind second place. We now have a home and home against Brewer Power, who are the best team in the National League with a 23-14 record and an RD of 189-123, +66 runs.

First game at their place, A, T & T park in San Fran. They are throwing 1907 Addie Joss, who they just picked up on Waivers. Looks like they dropped 2 players to afford him and have just 24 guys on their roster right now. We have Roy Mitchell (5-0, 3.12) going, who is only at 99 despite getting 4 days rest since his last start.

Murcer gets his first start against the RHer Joss. Bullpen is short with just the closer Alcala fully rested.

Four straight losses now as Brewer power smashed us 8-3. Russ Ford was great for 6 innings, but everything fell apart in the 7th as they sent 11 men to the plate and scored 7 runs.

The game was scoreless after 4 innings with Summers and Ford both mowing the hitters down. Top 5, Jeter's RBI single gives them a 1-0 lead. Bottom 5 we tied it on an RBI hit by Speaker. Ford sets them down in the 6th with just an infield single. Bottom 6 now, and we take a 2-1 lead on a double by Cullenbine and an RBI single from McCovey.

Top 7 now, and the wheels come off the bus. Two outs, first and second, and Boggs flyball drops in for a 2 run single. Hiller replaces Ford, and promptly gives up 2 straight hits and a run. First and third, 2 outs, and Leach mishandles a ball that ends upo in 4 more runs coming home before the inning was over. We did not score again until Murcer hit a solo HR with 2 outs in the 9th.

Two hits apiece for McCovey and Murcer. Pignatano sees his first action for the club, replacing Cochrane once the game got out of hand.

Okay, next up at the Yard Dogs for 3 games in Dodger Stadium. They are 6-10 at home but 15-8 on the road. We face 1968 Juan Marichal (7-3, 3.39) in game one overnight tonight. We have Geoff Zahn (4-4, 4.36) going. Their big hitters are Mike Piazza, 1962 Tommy Davis and Eddie Murray. Piazza is just a D+ thrower.

The fatigue system has forced me to make a move. picked up 1908 Harry Hoch just to have another fresh arm in the pen. Dropped Barney Wolfe who started a game a few days back and was not gonna be able to pitch again for like 20+ games. Wolfe is good, but he does me no good resting while I pay his salary. I guess it's gonna be musical chairs with pitchers all season long, each time paying that 10% VIG for each player I pick up. No other choice. I can't keep guys on the roster who can't play at all for 20 or more games. Patsy Flaherty will get a second start when he gets back to 100 and then he'll have to go.

I only had 2 guys in the pen who were available before this move. One at 100 and one at 98.

You get $1.6M, and the WW gets depleted quickly. It repopulates occasionally. It isn't enough to provide a lot of quality innings. You need to draft enough, as you get good at managing you can make do with less. You do get a 10% buffer, but I recommend 1,300 minimum for newbies. Use all 13 pitcher slots, even if a few are mops...
I'm not going with just 12 position players, this isn't 2022 baseball. I'm carrying 14 position players. including one of the greatest pinch hitting seasons ever in 1968 Gates Brown. I only expect to make one waiver move, either trading in a mopup guy for another good reliever, or maybe trading in one of my starters for an upgrade. I'll be fine.

I bumped all the pitching fatigue threads for you so you’d see how it worked…

[edited to add: Also, their process, while I do believe has its flaws (those are thoroughly detailed elsewhere), does do a great job of allowing guys to reach/exceed their RL totals without allowing the system to be gamed or manipulated.)
