in my continuing quest to pilfer teams from my hometown, and to apparently make sure that the Muts don't have a third baseman, I'll take Robin Ventura of the M-E-T-S METS METS METS!

The Orioles will take part-time outfielder and pinch hitter extraordinaire Randy Winn - SF Giants

To replace Frank the Icon?! Oh, that is sad.

P-Trevor Hoffman-SD

We are much happier with our bullpen, having grabbed Eck and Hoff, now we dont have to use the ever underacheiver, Issringhausen!!

Although we sure would have liked to keep, Joe Torre, Ted Simmons, Jose Deleon, Chris Carpenter, Jim Edmonds.....

Its been a tough draft for the cards this year lol, guess ya cant keep everyone!!

As im sure Jose will point out later, It has been an odd draft for the Cards, drafting a platooning OF'er and 2 Closers!! But I feel St. Louis' main downfall is usually their bullpen, thats full of nice numbers that never seem to produce.

We have a question from Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post-Disptach; "How are you going handle having McGwire, Pujols and Gregg Jeffries, pretty much 3 firstbasemen on your roster?"

page 1 updated, as for the Padres, that is something I struggled with last leg, the loss of Meredith & Brown hurt the staff, to see them lose Meredith & Hoffman, that will be tough to replace with limited options

I was also wondering about the McGwire/Jefferies thing. I guess he has a D-/D- at 2B in 1993, but...really?

also, isn't Disco not up until 10:30?
3/3/2010 9:16 AM
I think Mike Adams and Joey Devine will make a great closers tandem.I figured on losing Hoffman as there were too many other key players that needed to be protected.Hopefully it pans out.

I think you're right, newark, and nin has yet to pick for the Braves.
3/3/2010 9:18 AM
capable for sure, but Meredith & Hoffman were proven comodities in this, although Hoffman was DOG **** for me last leg, so you may be ok, the innings may be something to stir concern however for both Adams & Devine, but nonetheless, I like what you did thru the draft
3/3/2010 9:28 AM
I've had Hoffman many times, sometimes really good and sometimes as you say "DOG ****" so it definately is worth trying a different course of action. The innings shouldn't be an issue as they combine for 82 innings. That should be plenty for a " 2 man-closer".

just to be clear: if nin wanted hoffman, disco would have to pick again? i'm sure nin doesn't want him, but is that the protocol?
