Fair Play Guidelines? Topic

It saves Customer Service the trouble of fielding a great number of "he didn't win enough games last season" tickets. they should do it in the interest of their own productivity.

THANK YOU for paying attention to the forums and thinking about your decision(s) and what their implementation could mean to this game, tzentmeyer.

I, for one, appreciate that the powers that be listen to us...most of the time.

thanks for the correction. it was the right thing to do.

It would be a fairly simple addition to the programing I think. Not that I am a programmer... But I am sure this would make life a lot easier for the commissioners and for WIS when dealing with tankers and with owners that arent following the agreed upon rules put forth.

Yes, thank you tzentmeyer for listening and responding.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the difference between subjective and objective in this case will mean WIS still rules private worlds.

So, if I complain loud enough I can still get my way over the commissioner if I can convince WIS, regardless if I broke world rules or not. The whiners will still prevail.

I will shut up if smoelheim is booted from Cooperstown.

And if you win 61 when the minimum is 60, well, congratulations, you live to see another season.

Just to quickly address this, a team that's 60-60 can go 1-41 to close out the season and hit 61 wins. No one in their right mind wants that.

Someone would if they wanted a high draft pick.

Bravo, WiS. TZ, you've handled yourself like a pro. I think the vast majority of us appreciate the responsiveness you've shown all day. Especially in light of the fact that you thought you were fixing all this crap yesterday, only to find it had all hit the fan overnight. I'm sure there are lots of things on today's "To Do" list that have been rescheduled.

I might add that while the new tanking rules for public worlds set a pretty low standard, at least it's a standard, and that's going to be an improvement for those worlds.

I really like the fact that we've now got an objective standard for when a Commish is to be removed, as well. When a user is going to get booted, they can always now appeal to their league mates. If they get enough requests to change Commish, they'll be saved. And no one will scream "You're undermining all Commishes!" since the Commish would have been removed under preset guidelines.

I'll re-phrase. No decent world wants to see that happen. And that's why the hard, in writing rules don't work. Sooner or later, someone will manipulate the rule to hit the bare minimum to secure a higher pick.

WIS does rule all worlds. Its their game. If they want to evaluate problems case by case it is their prerogative. As long as commissioners have the ability to boot people not adhering to league rules.

But this will be a problem for public, not private worlds.

Doesn't it seem like a giant waste of both effort and potentially budgetary resources to build a 81-81 team and then turn it into a 4-158 team at the All-Star break, as opposed to just building a 65-win team to begin with?
